GM (Cheikh Sourang), 2-10/00. Advised on positions the Global Mechanism secretariat could take on specific transboundary problems (Niger/Nigeria, Fouta Djallon), the Horn of Africa emergency, and OECD/DAC guidelines on poverty reduction.


IFAD (Cheikh Sourang and Yahia Bouarfa), 1-2/99. Identified analytical work in natural resources management to be undertaken with Cameroon, which might lead to project preparation.

IFAD (Cheikh Sourang and Yahia Bouarfa), 11/98. Advised on (a) how to use analytical work on incentives for natural resources management in the design of IFAD operations, and (b) how IFAD might assist the Comite Permanent Inter-Etats de Lutte contre la Secheresse dans le Sahel (CILSS) to provide operational guidance to member countries in natural resources policy and project formulation, particularly in water, soil fertility, and livestock.
